Introduction

This term paper is based on the Benefits and Drawbacks of Educational Technology. Technology is present in everything around us such as in work, our community, our family, our home, and other things related to daily life. However, in the education sector, we see that many schools today do not have the resources to integrate technology into the learning environment. Many are beginning to explore the potential so great that technology offers to educate and learn. With proper use, the technology helps students acquire the skills necessary to survive in a society focused on technological knowledge. Many teachers believe that learning projects using technology is the best and most effective way. It is also true that learning through projects that facilitate the use of various forms of technology allows students to challenge their intellectual knowledge while providing a more realistic picture of the project, but the selection of the most appropriate technology for each project is fundamental task for the teacher.

The use of technology should result in students the desire to learn and acquire knowledge naturally. The teachers should provoke the desire to use them, making a proper planning and teaching strategies for different subjects that include appropriate technology, creating academic models based on technology and supported by pedagogical concepts to support its use. The use of technology can have a very positive impact on learning, but only if its use is appropriate to the circumstances of the moment and not learning to sacrifice efficient and flexible resources for blind faith in technological resources (Yook, 2012).

Among the disadvantages of new technologies are the initial costs. It is an empirical fact that new technologies are a new factor of social inequality because of that they are starting to cause further separation and cultural distance between those sectors of the population who have access to them and who do not. It is necessary to think about the medium and long term real commitments between the administrative and the educational part.

Benefits of Educational Technology

Technology has enriched and enhanced the lives of people in many ways, but we have only begun to see the pace of innovation and this is accelerating in all spheres of society. Education has not been the exception and use of new technologies is growing rapidly. Currently, the socio-cultural changes, resulting from technological developments also affect education and force us to open new horizons and new pedagogical approaches, unexplored until recently, such as those offered by ICT. As in many areas, ICTs are now an increasingly essential tool in the educational institutions which facilitate the act of making multimedia presentations, content exposure, etc (Brooks, 2003).

The profound changes in education have led to new technological tools that help students and teachers require a new basic training and continuous training in order to carry out effective digital literacy.
