Introduction

It was the huge surprise for the world when Berlin wall got fall. For few months, Germany East's circumvented communist rulers were trying in vain to silence an arising opposition movement and pouring out people from the country. The wall of Berlin was more like a blockade and it was also the physical division of West and East Berlin. Symbolically, this boundary refers to the difference between capitalism and communism. In the year of 1989, the fall of Berlin wall was greatly celebrated by the world but the question rises why that is so? In the conclusion of World War II, Germany was divided into four partitions which were handled by France, the former Soviet Union, USA and the Great Britain. It was resulted by the agreement of Postdam. In the similar manner, the association between Russia and the West was degenerated and it might be the reason of the Cold War. It has been researched that West Germany will become a democratic state and flourishing capitalist even as East Germany communist. The subject with Berlin was located in the Soviet Zone as a result of the Postdam agreement; though it was silent split into 4 proscribed zones. There was a prosperous and democratic economy under the control of Soviet area that can equate to an Island.

Discussion

The economy of West Berlin was tagged an “economic miracle” recognition to the support it gained from the West. It was the bleak distinction to the East part of Berlin, which Russia had little interest in developing and human freedoms were restricted. Moreover, the culture of East German Secret Police controlling had made neighbors, paranoia and close friends, which were misrepresented for informing one another. By the year of 1950, most of the East Berliners were disgusted from the restricted manner of living (Görtemaker, 1987). They were completely acknowledged that West Berliners can travel without any harassment. The swift growth of West Berlin yielded them the capability to purchase appliances and construct a comfortable residence. It seemed that many of East Berlins simply abandon for West. It was the issue for the Russians and considered that Russians will use military force for taking West Berlin.

In 1961, the solution for them was to rebuild the Berlin Wall. The installation of initial wall was greatly constructed in a night and contained miles of barbed wire and huge concrete pillars. The wall of Berlin was itself extended over hundred miles and was many times upgraded for becoming more effective to people scaling. In the middle era of 1980's, Russia's strangle grasp on Eastern European countries such as Hungary, Poland and Czechoslovakia was reaching to weak points. East German who wished to leave can simply hide by other edges where communism was stumbling. In the year of 1989, west put strong pressure and announced that the relocation can be introduced at any checkpoint alongside the East-West border (Neu & Dmitrieva, 2009).
