Introduction

By the term usually refers to black people whose tone of skin is darker than others, called by opposition "white." Although the name, of a person as "black" varies from culture to culture, it often associated with people living in the sub-Saharan Africa, also known as “Black Africa ". For its part, the existence of a black population in America, known as " African "is caused by the seizure of millions of Africans and their forced removal to America to work as a slave, by European colonial powers between the ages 16th and 18th Centuries.

Discuss the development and changes in status for blacks in the British colonies from 1619 through the mid-eighteenth century. Why did these changes happen?

Black slaves in early twentieth century. Current historiography agrees to banish the image of the black person as a slave at all times in history. At least a total of 80 million victims is attributable to modern and contemporary slave trade, due to deaths in wars and slave caravans and ships (Combs, 23).

The slave system imposed gradually throughout a distorted image of black people whose aim was to perpetuate slavery. The classification of human groups 'higher' and 'lower' was the beginning of racism evolutionary, with theories like Gobineau or own Darwin. Blacks placed at the bottom of the scale.
