Introduction

The aim of the assignment is to perform a research on a case study and perform a problem analysis. The concept of building a management theory plays a crucial role in the progress of an individual in the organization in the desired direction and manner. It is so because these concepts serve the purpose of guidelines to base the building on management theory on. Quality management is another domain that benefits a lot from these concepts due to the fact that it is one of the parameters that indicate the development of an organization. An organization that is successful in managing the desired quality of its products, due to an employee, for a prolonged period of time is definitely developing. In this paper, an attempt would be made to highlight the role of building on management theory concepts in successful quality management.

Discussion

The assignment tries to identify a problem through case study and then tends to analyze the problem with respect to concerned concepts, theories and models. The planners and the leadership of the organization assess the weaknesses that are faced by it along with its strengths that can play a significant role in its development. In quality management, this phase matters a lot. The building a management theory concepts and theories contribute significantly to the successful quality management process.

It may happen that an organization that provides services to its client is receiving complaints regarding mismanagement of time on a continuous basis, then in such scenario, this phase would provide the leadership of the organization to determine the root cause behind this issue. Similarly, it may happen that an organization observes an increase in the number of defective units of the product it produces that adds significantly to the reduction in quality. Then in such case, diagnostic phase requires them to analyze the whole product manufacturing process and diagnose whether there is any problem with the raw material that is used or is there any fault in the manufacturing process. Quality management is defined as the process that is aimed at maintaining and improving the quality of the product/service as well as the procedure for achieving this (Soparnot, 2011). There are three main phases of the building on management theory cycle and each would be discussed with reference to its role in successful quality management.

The diagnostic phase of building a management theory cycle is perhaps the initial stage. Eddy needs to provide the leadership of the organization with the information that is required to continue the building a management theory process. During this phase, the current scenario and situation of the organization is evaluated in a thorough manner in order to diagnose any possible problems that tend to hinder the performance as well as development of the organization (Van der Wiele, 2003). This is so because the organization can make important decisions that are vital to the management of the quality.
