Business Analysis System

Introduction

According to Roper and Millar, (1999) is the framework of identifying and analysing organisation as system or systematically gaining information about the organisation processes, business areas, business processes and operating systems. The process of system analysis involves the identifying and examining every function and process that is performed by the organisation, how different tasks, employees, jobs and structure interact with each other. Business systems are made up of different interrelated and interactive processes that perform their functions together in order to achieve organisational goals. A business system analysis help managers to see that all the organisational functions are interrelated and performing their business process and if any process is unable to perform its functions than it will help managers to redesign that part of the business process. There is a difference between a business analysis and a system analyst; both have a separate job to perform. Business Analysis are the people who analyze the business activity of the business like selling, buying, competitors' products, market conditions and the business environment whereas system analysts are the people who analyze the different processes or systems installed in a business like supply chain management system, information technology system and etc. According to Cooper, (1997) a supply chain management system is the new name for logistics, it is similar to logistic processes and encompasses integration of all business processes. The study emphasises on integration and co-operation among different processes that develops an effective and efficient supply chain management system. Many researches will support the business systems analysis in relation to the supply chain management system used by many organisations.

According to Philiphs, (2009, pp.317) systems are a set of organized processes that are identified by the flow of activities to achieve a targeted result. System ensures that all the activities are performed in a proper manner so that they are able to achieve results in a particular time period. There are different kinds of systems working in an organisation like human resource management, procurement, supply chain management system, product configuration model and several other kinds of systems are operated in an organisation. According to Cracknord, (2010, pp.33) a business system analysts is a person that study the different systems operating in a business and identify the weaknesses in system, provide suggestions and recommendations to improve the system and support mangers in redesigning the system. A business system analyst has knowledge and training about the changes that are occurring in the business environment. Supply Chain management is the backbone of many business, as it identifies the demand of the consumers and enable organisations to identify the level of production, if a supply chain management system of an organisation does not work properly than it will create a huge loss for the business. Organisations need to update their supply chain management systems by the help of the system analysts who can check if there are any loop holes in the system or not.
