ABSTRACT

The aim of this report of this study is to exhibit our capability of dealing with existing issues and devise appropriate solutions which can be practically implemented within the business field. For this study the present business scenario of Reilly's Supervalu Sallins will be conducted, and in depth analysis of all their functions and core business operations will be conducted in order to investigate possible issues that the company can experience. My goal is to provide detailed accounts of how the issues identified can be eradicated and the overall performance of the company can be ameliorated. Various strategic tools have been used in order to identify how some of the externalities are affecting the company and how these issues can be dealt with.SECTION 1: OVERVIEW OF BUSINESS PLAN

Introduction

Within this section of the business plan we will discuss the foundation of Reilly's Supervalu Sallins. Covering its history and how the organisation was able to expand so significantly throughout the country. In order to be able to understand the core operations and the elements which have lead it to success as well as those factors which need to be changed or altered will also be discussed. We will also cover the history of Musgrave group of companies which is the owner of the grocery chain in Ireland.

Overview of business - Reilly's Supervalu Sallins

For this study the business which will be discussed is a major retail outlet called Reilly's Supervalu Sallins. Reilly's Supervalu Sallins is a grocery store which is owned by Musgrave group of companies. Reilly's Supervalu Sallins (Called RSS henceforth) is one of the leading retail markets in Ireland and Spain and has been operational since 2007. The headquarters of the company is in Cork City, Ireland. Since they began operating RSS has been committed to striving towards expanding and covering maximum area possible, RSS is a franchise that gradually progressed and aimed at becoming a leading retail outlet. Currently RSS has a total of 195 Supervalu outlets all across Ireland. RSS deals with a wide range of commodities which include groceries, liquor and various household commodities. RSS also has an in-house baker and a butcher. The store has a number one goal of ensuring that the food is always fresh, they have followed this principle since they began operations and it is one of the major contributing factors which has lead the company to such an instant success.
