Can One Be Good Without God

Introduction

It is most popular in the western cultures and the western philosophy that one person can be good without God. There is also a popular quote in the west and that is. “If God does not exist, everything is permitted”. The concept and the idea behind this philosophy is that the God is the source of morality and if it does not exist then there would nothing be that would really be affected. There are many people, especially Christians living in the United States and people in other areas of west who have serious issues with these concepts and they have many controversies with many of the philosophies regarding this concept.

There are many philosophies that have been presented by many philosophers who believe that one person can be good without God. These theories contradict with the philosophies of the philosophers who believe that there is no morality without God. The one who believes that they can be good without God are against the concept and idea that God is the source of goodness and nothing can exist without the existing of God, one must follow the God to be good and to have the good.

The strong believers on God feel that God is the one who define what is good for the humans and it is the source of fairness and goodness. They also believe that God encourages us by his miracles to do good deeds and the devils tries us to make us do devil deeds. However others who are against it feel that there can nothing be made good because there would be no everlasting effects for actions. They also believe that if something happens wrong, there would not be God to make the things right again.

With the concept that one can be good without God, there are many issues that are reflected in the philosophies defined by many major philosophers. Many theories have been proposed by the Western philosophers who reflect their views according to them that have contradictions with one another.
