Canada's government should limit the immigration

Introduction

Gone are those days when people, societies and civilizations were confined to only one area or region. During that era the individuals, belonging to one geographical area, were totally naïve and unaware about the other regions, or the world, as a whole. There existed minute knowledge about other regions, their cultures, norms and values. Moreover, it took them weeks and even months to go from one region to anther. However, things have drastically changed for the world, since the advent of globalization. Many set the industrialization responsible for providing the world with the blessing or endowment of globalization. It is obvious to everyone now that globalization has played a pivotal role in not only escalating and accelerating the development and progress of the world, but has also played a vital role in lowering down the communication, trade and other barriers among different countries of the world, and has paved ways for the exchange of different resources between the countries.

Causes of Immigration to Canada

There are numerous causes for the increase in the requirement of immigration, by numerous inhabitants of different countries to Canada, and amongst the major cause or the doorway for the immigration is globalization itself. Seldom does it happen that the immigration to Canada of a person is a forced immigration, where he/she is lawfully coerced to leave the country and take asylum in Canada. The causes of immigration are caused due to numerous factors that are integral in the home country of the immigrant. Amongst other primary reasons for the immigration of people from their home country to Canada are the social and the economic factors, most of the individuals of the under developed countries, turn their fate towards Canada, in order to earn a respectable living for themselves and their families. Not only, does Canada openly render them the opportunities for having a decent job, but also a rather respectable life style for themselves and their families. The poverty and the level of unemployment in their home countries are the real factors that ignite the need and the desire of moving to a place, which would be able to fulfil the basic necessities of their lives (Bauder, p. 109).

Moreover, a greater chunk of the immigrants consist of young individuals, who come to Canada for the sake of attaining the desired education in the most renowned institutes. Also, the political situations of the countries, specially the underdeveloped and the developing countries, compel individuals to seek a place to live which would at least offer them safety and security. Many underdeveloped countries suffer from incessant civil wars, which put their lives, and the lives of their loved ones at stake, and leave them with no other apparent choice, but to leave the country that gave them birth, a place to live, and most importantly their identity.
