Abstract

In this research we try to discover the insight of “Canadian Pacific Railway” in a holistic perspective. The key heart of the study is on “Canadian Pacific Railway” and its relation with “Canadian Railway and its Initiation”. The research also examines various characteristics of “Canadian Pacific Railway” and tries to measure its effect. Lastly the research illustrates a variety of factors which are responsible for the creating of “Canadian Pacific Railway” and tries to describe the overall effect of it.

Introduction

The history of North America is closely linked to communication and to that of the railways in particular have often been the source of his first major periods of general or even regional development. United States, the Union Pacific and Illinois Central made their junction in May 1869 north of Great Salt Lake. In Canada, it's July 4, 1886 the Pacific Express, from Montreal six days earlier, arrived in Port Moody, a few kilometers east of Vancouver. Such a feat crowned the efforts of the Canadian Pacific Railway Company, officially incorporated February 16, 1881, in Montreal.

Canadian Pacific Railway allowed the transportation to be managed much more effectively as the capital extracted from the transportation allowed the government to handle the depression appropriately, hence, the competition within also allowed the railways to gain strength.

The reasons that necessitated the construction of a first line of railway Trans prevailed over obstacles, however, despite the weight and number of the latter. It is primarily the incorporation of British Columbia and Manitoba into Confederation in 1870 and 1871 respectively, which justified the implementation of a vast project that was to last five years.

Without this project, the development of the vast Canadian prairie is long remained hypothetical, besides the advent of the rail has helped counter the expansionist aims of the United States who saw with an envious eye at these huge empty spaces their reach. For their part, the obstacles were significant: the vast territory and the presence of the Rockies in particular, but also the harsh climate and difficult terrain of the wilderness of the Canadian Shield north of Lake.
