Introduction

Choosing a career is one of the toughest decisions in the life of any individual. The reason behind this perceptual assumption is that the chosen career highlights how the rest of a person's life would be spent. Therefore, it is very much important to do extensive research and pay maximum attention to the related factors while choosing a career. The secret to having a perfect lifestyle is to work in a field that has the maximum compatibility with the personality of an individual. In order to better understand the selection of a career, and its related impact; in depth discussion regarding the relevant factors and information is required.

Selection of Career and Position

Numbers have always made sense to me. The feeling of balancing things up and analyzing them to predict their future outcomes has always provided ultimate pleasure to my inner self. Keeping in mind my interest in analyzing data and giving them a touch of accurate balance, I have chosen to work in the field of accounting.

Moreover, accounting is a vast term and has many diversified branches attached with it. From the multiple diversified options available to me, I have chosen to become a Certified Public Accountant. Obtaining a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license assures the government, public and the business community that the candidate has completed the mandatory education, and relevant work experience for providing services of auditing and specialized accounting etcetera (Accounting Education, 2013).

Reason for becoming a Certified Public Accountant

There are backhand reasons for any decision made by a candidate. The reason for choosing to be a Certified Public Accountant is that I love numerical and analytical work. Moreover, the following advantages could also be highlighted that make the career profession more charming:

Certified Public Accountants receive maximum prestige and respect, because of their proved excellence in accounting. The most common traits attached with a CPA include career commitment, expertise, professionalism and ethical responsibility.

Being a Certified Public Accountant provides multiplicative salary packages in comparison to those who are not certified.

Certified Public Accountants also have higher career security in comparison to other job fields and professions.

The chances of personal growth are very high and are completely dependent upon one's personal learning and performance abilities.

Educational Requirements

Every certification program requires the candidate to have an appropriate and suitable profile, in order to survive within the field. The minimum educational and other requirements of joining a Certified Public Accountant course include:

A total of 150 credit hours of education from a state accredited and accepted college or university. The reason for the 150 hours requirement is that Certified Public Accountants are trained to be perfectionists; moreover, being complete proficient in such a detailed field requires time investment (American Institute of CPAs, 2013).

A minimum bachelor's degree from a state accredited and accepted educational body.

A minimum of two years of relevant work experience is also required for admission in the program.
