Introduction

Human beings have the ability to react differently on different situations, as their mind process in different ways. Their aims, goals, ideas, feelings, and thoughts are different from each other. Their life experiences and the way they relate themselves to those experiences make their life different from each other. In life time, everyone has to face a stage where their needs change and they require some change in their lives, which can help them in getting self-satisfaction and self-achievement. It is necessary that human beings are satisfied with their lives, or else they can face different psychological issues and problems.

Mostly individuals get confused that how they can achieve self-satisfaction, and what they really want in life. This confusion can be removed by taking help of a counselor, who helps in understanding things in a better way. A counselor is responsible to help their clients in getting rid of their mental stress and problems by advising and suggesting them something relevant related to their lives. There are several people who consult different counselors so get rid of their mental barriers and blocks, which are not letting them to think and understand what to do. Counseling always helps individuals in finding solutions to their mental problems, by getting some new ideas and suggestions, which can help in living a better life. There are different ways and approaches used by counselors to help their clients in getting rid of their problems. It is the responsibility of the counselor to use approaches according to the needs and requirements of the client, after understanding about the lives of their clients.

Discussion

In case of Marion, who is a 45 years old lady having three children and a husband. In this phase of life, she has started feeling that she has made wrong choices in her life, and she should try to make her life better by trying new things. She has three children; two of them are married and live away from home. Her third child has recently left home to complete his studies. Marion felt alone at home as she had no one to spend time with, as she had maintained a life around her children, and had believed that her family is her life. Her husband was also mostly busy with his business, and spent hours at office and came home late.

Marion was happy with her life till she had her one son with him, but after he left for studies, it became difficult for her to live alone. Her loneliness made her think that she had made wrong choices in her life. Marion has some close friends, and she liked spending time with them, but now she wanted some change in her life. She wanted to achieve something in her life, as she had the feeling that she has not achieved anything in her life except for raising her children well.
