Causes of King Phillip's War

Introduction

It was in 1962 when the Wampanoag Leader Wamsutta was taken into custody at gun point and was taken to Plymouth. The people of Wampanoag got angry and aggressive when they found that there leader Wamsutta died due to sickness while he was under arrest. Later his brother Metacom who was also known by the name of King Phillips took the throne and became the leader of the Wampanoag. Due to the War and the rebellions taken by King Philips he was give the name of Metacomet. In the 17th century during 1675 to 1676 King Philips involved the Native Americans and the colonists into a conflict which converted into a war later on. The report will provide detail information about what were the several reasons, consequences and the conflicts of the King Philips war. It will also provide the effects of the war after the war ended.

Discussion

Many refugees when arrived in Plymouth during the crisis in the Native Americans, they lost their leader called Wamsutta who later died. The death of the leader caused aggression and anger among the refugees but before this aggression would have reached the streets and would have created other problems, soon they found a leader. The new leader was the King of Philips who was the brother of Wamsutta. During his rule over the Wampanoag he led to the conflict between the Native Americans and the colonists who later resulted into a War and rebellions. The rebellious nature of King Phillips earned him the name of Metcomet. The Native Americans who came from the Rhode Island and lived in Narragansett were able to enjoy their freedom and implement their independence in their lives and in their country. After the independence the Native Americans were able to provide their citizens, children and other people in their country to live a happy and secured life. They were able to provide all the facilities to its people which included education and medical facilities for the sick people. It was in 1675 when their independence and freedom was challenged by the colonists who were the refugees and were facing huger problems. The starving of the colonists created aggression and anger among them and they attacked the Narragansett tribes to snatch all the facilities and tried to conquer their land.
