This study will be based on the topic “changes and challenges faced by educational system of UK due to multiculturism”. The first chapter will provide an introduction to the topic including the purpose and significance of the study. The second chapter will present a review of relevant literature, highlighting the previous research carried out in this field.

Background of the Research

European countries place the problems of education systems in a fundamental role of social reflection. Improving education is one of the basic elements of public policy and an object of study of international organizations (Anker, 1998). The importance of education and knowledge in a global world is becoming increasingly important, not only what refers to the formation of the elite or professional training. It is now considered that the basic education of all population is a key factor for progress, coexistence and social harmony. In this sense, in most European countries shows a determination to enhance the knowledge and go for an education mandatory quality that serves to promote economic development and increase social welfare of its citizens (Armitage and Scott, 1998, pp. 281-97). Moreover, the quality of education depends not only on the amount of resources, but above all, how they used, how it organizes and governs the system, how they form faculty, and motivation and support of social groups involved, especially families. The EU has shown over recent years, a growing interest in improving the performance of education systems of countries members. So it shows the meeting of the EU Council in Lisbon, as embodied in the document containing the goals and points Reference should be made by all member countries in the year 2010. It is a clear example of how to begin to address jointly educational issues in European countries (Hannum,Park & Butler,2010).
