Change is an essential attribute of most of the modern companies. Those companies which do not according to the changing environment will find it hard to survive in this competitive environment. Although most of the leaders recognize the value of change, but their change efforts fail due to many reasons. The top three reasons why change efforts fail are as follows:

The change leaders are not properly equipped on a personal level

Most of the change models are not complete

Capacity is widely overlooked, on all levels

We will discuss now each of these three reasons in some detail. It has been observed in most of the businesses that change consultants or those involved in the process of change in an organization are not properly equipped on a personal level. Most of them are not aware of the political, economic and ecological realities that are unprecedented in the history (Wells, 2005). Similarly, the leaders or change consultants involved in the process of change lack adult development. Besides, it has also been noted that the change consultants or leaders involved in bringing the change do not have sufficient information about their staff. The change consultants also do not monitor closely the process of change. They only want the change but ignore the difficulties that the staff may be encountering in experiencing the change.

Another important reason due to which change efforts fail is that most of the change models are not complete. In most of the cases, there is no important preparation by the leadership. The preparation phase is of pivotal importance in the process of change (Wells, 2005).
