Christian Worldview

Introduction

Christian worldview as both a vision of life, what it advocates, and a way of life, realizing that “practicing what one preaches” is a huge challenge for all humans regardless of their worldview orientation, and something history reminds us of all too often.

Christian worldview sees and understands the Creator God and his creation - that man and the world - primarily in the light of special revelation of God, the Holy Scriptures. In addition, they considered it in light of natural revelation of God in creation, which is interpreted by the human mind, and brought into harmony with the Scriptures.

This serves to believe in God and live according to His will, that God is glorified both now and in eternity through mind and life of man. In what way is the acquisition of a Christian world view, among other benefits? The following questions may be as small representative selection of those important life questions that you answer with absolute certainty, and where one can stand in faith.

Christians of the 21st Century are faced with the same basic questions in relation to this world and life, which already faced the first humans in ancient times in Genesis. They too had to go through the different world views in order to answer the above questions. This was during the entire history of the case.

What are the main differences between the Christian worldview and other worldviews?

At the core of this issue is raised, the Christian worldview from competing worldviews from the fact that it recognizes 1) God as the sole source of all truth and 2) any truth in relation to the understanding of God and with God's goals for the earthly and eternal life looks.

Questions Framework

The ultimate questions framework, which is employed by theologians, philosophers and others to get at the heart of Christian beliefs and values (Sire, 2004). Beliefs and values shape a vision of life and a way of life—in essence, a worldview. A Christian worldview in terms of responses to six ultimate questions:

Who and What Are We?

The opening narrative in the Hebrew Scriptures tells the story of humans made in the image of God. Humans are not cosmic accidents, slaves or servants, or autonomous beings, alone in a universe that has no cosmic meaning. Rather they are spiritual and physical entities bearing the image of a Creator God, who bestows on them—male and female—co-creative capacity and potential, and a mandate to be stewards and caretakers of the earth. Through individual and communal activity humans are called to work to make this world a better place, to provide for themselves and others by increasing the common good and enhancing relationships(Wolters, 1985).Through unfolding their co-creative capacity and potential, they become more human, individually and collectively (Vanier, 1998).

The human is the subject of all activity. The focus is also the earth, for the earth is the place of human activity. Hence, it is not money, prestige, or the material that has priority; it is the human.
