Introduction

Chronic Pain is a major clinical issue prevailing in the world; a number of people suffer from the unrelieved chronic pains and rely on clinical treatments to get rid of these chronic patients. Chronic pain is basically termed as a pain that recurs or contributes to persist for more than three months. Chronic pain may occur due to an injury and could or there should also be an ongoing pain. Chronic pain could occur from various pain stems but the most common sources of chronic pain include joint pain, backaches, pain from injury and headaches (Koestler, 2002). Apart from the most common sources of chronic pain, there are some other significant sources of chronic pain which include sinus pain, tendinitis, carpel tunnel syndromes and pain that affect other body parts such as neck, pelvis and shoulder.

It has been researched that a huge percentage of individuals all over the world suffer from chronic pain. There are different reasons why patients are found suffering from chronic pains; some patients could suffer from this type of pain because of lack of care or wrong medications. Research on this subject reveals that every fifth adult individual suffers from chronic pain and it is also studied and observed that the prevalence of pain increases as age of the individual increases (Jay, 2007). Chronic pain is found more in females and individuals who have physically strenuous work or work related with less education. There are various individuals who suffer from chronic pain and go through various treatments and could not live up to their regular activities and commitments of work.

Likewise other diseases, chronic pain also has some symptoms which if occur in the human body, they could serve as a sign of an individual suffering from chronic pain. Some of the most significant symptoms of chronic pain in the human body include burning and aching pain, mild to severe pain that does not go away with the passage of time and feeling of discomfort and stiffness in body. I regard to the symptoms which occur in the human body, there also occur some problems with the individuals who suffer from these pains experience. The most significant problems which are associated with chronic pain include fatigue, weakened immune system, changes in mood and feeling a sense of depression and anxiety, disability, sleeplessness, withdrawal from daily routine activities and increases time to take rest (Field, 2008). Chronic pain is a major problem which a number of individuals suffer from all over the world and it is essential for the health care organization and the governing bodies to take preventive measures to overcome the problem of chronic pain in individuals.

It is not very easy for a country to develop programs to overcome the health care problem of chronic pain as it involves a great amount of finance to treat the patients suffering from chronic pain.
