Introduction

The fictional Italian filmmaker Salvatore makes this film. It is a self discovery of the author when he goes to attend his mentor and friend funeral. During this visit he remembers his past that is one is he recalls his first love and he didn't marry her. The expression of love is well portrayed in the film. There are three concept versions highly commendable fitted in this film they are the Salvatore film objective love, his love for Elena that was personal love and when he returns to his home town and finds his maternal and family love (Vahdani, 2011).

It is an attractive story that capture audience attention as the story is about love affair that takes place in the life of a young boy. This was set in Italian village. One day Salvatore leaves the village as to pursue his dream of making movies. After 30 years he receives a message and he came back to his home town (Cinena Paradico, 2013). The story of this film revolves in a flashback about Alfredo and Toto (Studies in Cinema, 2010). He came back to attend the funeral of former film projectionist. While returning to his home town he recalls his past memories which includes the love with a lady but the love tragedy was the lady wasn't love him (Tarnatore, G.2003).

Discussion

This film is really appealing the audience as it is set in Sicily. This film deals with relationship between Toto (Salvatore di Vita) and Alfredo. Alfredo teaches Toto regarding movie making. He was mentor and teaches Salvatore - Toto like a student. He was the one who encouraged the talent of Salvatore regarding movie making and he build confidence in this young man to go forward and achieve his aspirations. He wants Salvatore to develop his talent worldwide. Salvatore became a film director and after 30 years he receives a message regarding the death of Alfredo. He came back to his home town to attend the funeral. After becoming film director he lives in Rome (Poyner, B).

There is a temporary paradise for the post war Sicilian. The camera pans through the indistinguishable interior to a mature woman in black, telling a black and white film. Via phone the woman made unsuccessful trials to contact someone. She was punctuating her attempts with comments to a younger woman, also in black and dimly lit, which we identify as her daughter. The black clothes suggest both a traditional society and mourning. Salvatore receives a message that Alfredo is dead and when he was going to attend the funeral he goes in flash back as he became young Salvatore (Poyner, B).

While returning back to his home town Salvatore recalls his past life. He recalls his love with Elena. He romance and love was bitterly ended.
