Cloud Deployment versus Dedicated In-House Deployment

Cloud Deployment versus Dedicated In-House Deployment

Introduction

The purpose of this paper is to highlight the way the deployment of a system on cloud resources versus deployment in a dedicated/in-house environment influence the design and development method. The paper will reflect on the different development methods that are used in both these deployments. A complete illustration would be provided for the purpose of comparing and contrasting the cloud deployment of a system with the conventional in-house deployment.

Cloud Deployment versus Dedicated In-House Deployment

Organizations are increasingly facing the issue of selecting between the conventional dedicated in-house deployment of their systems and deploying cloud servers for them. Prior to this selection, it is significant to understand the differences between the design and development methods of the two so as to make a selection that is best suitable to the organizational environment and requirements.

For a system to be deployed on cloud resources, e.g. servers, high end hardware is employed along with the virtualization technique for the purpose of allowing a number of virtual computers to run on that hardware. The deployment and configuration of the system on cloud servers take just a few minutes. The deployment of cloud resources makes it quite easy to resize and scale the servers that in turn provides the capacity to quickly and easily removing or adding hard drive space, computing power, and memory, which is customized to the requirements of data and applications that run on the cloud servers. The cloud resources may be backed up conveniently and they may also be moved amongst the data centres. The management of cloud servers and resources is developed into the cloud software which hence makes patching and monitoring much more efficient.

The conventional in-house deployment of a system, in majority of the cases, requires a great deal of time as well as significant amount of work. The applications, the operating system, the software, and even the hardware require being selected and installed. The entire procedure of installation may consume a lot of days or even weeks. The dedicated resources for system deployment require an annual or monthly and a set-up free contract. It may also be challenging to remove or add sources that may lead to a considerable down time. Additionally, the up-gradation of a dedicated in-house server requires a novel server as well as traversing through the whole installation procedure. Dedicated servers need mediating tools and equipment in order to monitor and provide backup.

The current era is quite advanced in terms of technology and the time for the conventional dedicated server is almost over. Novel technologies of cloud computing yield increased and enhanced performance and behave exactly like a dedicated server. The cloud resources and servers are more scalable, reliable and impart increased features of management and they are also cost effective.

The cloud servers employ Giga-net cloud; this makes them, easy, quick, and ready to use. One of the several types of servers that are accessible may be selected; the required software may be selected and ...
