Abstract

The issues and problems of marital life vary with the kind of marriage. In a marriage between GLBT and straight people, when the GLBT partner comes out the family and children are likely to face some challenges. Children should be handled with care by both the partners. They both have equal responsibility to their children. The personality building of children depends on the relation of their parents. In this situation, all the issues related to children and family, are being discussed extensively in this paper. This paper also discusses the financial, emotional and social statuses of GLBT community members.

Marriage is a commitment between two people of opposite or similar sexes. It is a legal act or a contract that two people undertake with the intention of standing side by side with each other in every phase of life. Marriage is not only a union of two people, but it is something more than that. It is the union of two souls. Their every step and decisions regarding any issue is mutual. When two people get associated through the bond of marriage, they share their problems and concerns with each other, and no one bears any kind of burdens alone (Craven, 2006).
