Introduction

Communication is derived from a Latin word “communis”, which means to share. Communication is an act of transferring information via exchange of messages or thoughts with visuals, writing, speech, behavior, or signals. Communication is a basic function performed by humans and an inevitable need of every human. Every human living, since the time of birth, by nature wants to send and receive messages, be in touch with people, and wants to express their own thoughts freely. Every human entering the world from the time of their birth till the time they die, is in a continual process of communication via receiving and sending thousands of messages by signs, verbal symbols, behavior, emotions, and body language. A person cannot live without communicating his or her thoughts, feelings, and emotions (Pauley, 2010).

Communication is characterized as every transmission or exchange of words and information as there is transmission of emotions and codes. It is urged that communication is the heart and soul of human society, which is a mechanism for installing and maintaining relations and attachments within humans. It is one of the mist imperative procedures of exchanging and spreading vital cultural elements, demands, and messages amongst groups and individuals, while contracting relations. Communication is considered by Morris and Singus (1946) as a system by which relationships amongst humans are formed and such system includes objects, symbols of thinking, and conversations during leisure time. It is believed that communication is a workmanship of effective and efficient information exchange amongst a person and a group of people or two men and more groups of people. He explains communication with a broader aspect that it involves all means like body language, verbal words, and written words which creates an impact on one's brains by another individual.

Communication can be defined in a form of equation, which is included:

Communication = Transmitter + Message + Means + Receiver

The success of communication, which is target - effectiveness depends on the receiver and the transmitter. The point where communication starts is the transmitter and the point of action and acceptance is the receiver. Receiver is the one who takes the message and information and then decides himself that how to react on certain message or information. The comprehension of the message depends on following:

Level of self-knowledge of the receiver

Culture of the receiver

Emotional condition of the receiver

Personal self respect of the receiver

Physical condition of the receiver

Subjective reality perception of the receiver

Environmental factors affecting the receiver

Reception of feeling of interaction from the transmitter to the receiver

There are presupposed skills and knowledge that are imperative from the communicative relation of humans and interpersonal relationship development, which are as follows:

Knowledge pertaining to communication policy

The high command over language

Sociology and psychology knowledge

The ability of the transmitter to identify the receiver's culture and environment for building a successful relation

Selection of appropriate means of transmitting information

Formation of message that is clear, concise, complete, and simple
