Managing Communication Knowledge Information

Introduction

This is a research on the organizational development and the various factors influencing the progress of an organization. Furthermore, discussions are presented about the change in the norms of an organization with the increasing advancements of technology.

Task 1:

Range of Decisions to be Taken for the Organization

Programmed Decisions

Programmed decisions are the customary decisions that are always taken in a constant routine. They can be jotted down as a print or even as a computer program and can be handed over to anyone for being followed.

Non-Programmed Decisions

These types of decisions are atypical and they are not necessarily taken in the same fashion or routine. Each can be taken with no association with the prior one, but independently.

Strategic Decisions

Such decisions influence the long-standing strategies of the organization.

Tactical Decisions

Tactical decisions, as evident from the name, are not for a long run, indicating the way to implement a policy, like decisions about the sort of marketing to incorporate or about the recruitment of employees.

Operational Decisions

These decisions are typically temporary decisions and they deal with the implementation of the various tactics, like decision about a firm where products are to be delivered (Churchill, Gilbert A., 2001).

Information Problem for the given Situation

For the given situation, the basic problem is the lack of efficiency in the communication of information. Since the organization is short of resources, hence the processes are performed effectively but with much lesser efficiency.

Data turned into Information turned into Knowledge

Data turns into information when it is modified such that a complete meaning and values are added to it in several possible ways. The most common example of converting data into useful information is to arrange raw numbers into appropriate groups, sum them up, calculate ratios out of them, plot graphs and make tables for them.

Knowledge is a combination of morals, experience, relative information, and the approach of specialists along with new ideas and information. The raw data when processes to form information and then to form knowledge, is the used in the organization in forming documents, and is also inculcated in the normal routines, activities and customs of the organization (Stair, Ralph M.,1999).

Decisions taken by the Outsiders

The people outside the company make use of the information about the company to take several decisions regarding their dealings, if any, with the organization; regarding the purchase of the products that the organization produces; regarding the selection of the organization as a part of their career; or regarding the association with the company if required in any sort of circumstances (Mintzberg, H., et.al, 1976).

Information Produced at different Levels of an Organization

There are three levels within the organization at which information is incorporated for various purposes;

Executive Level

This level deals with all the highly authoritative officials, who don't actually perform the daily processes of the organization, rather establish a set of goals and ensure the achievement of all those goals. They are thereby responsible for taking long standing and compound decisions.
