Introduction

Communication is referred to an activity of sharing and conveying information and knowledge, messages, exchange of thoughts and ideas through visuals, written language or signals and signs. Communication is a very important aspect of an individual's life. Humans communicate with different people in every aspect of life. Communication is also a very important part of business organizations. It has been stated that effective communication is the lifeblood of an organization. An organization n needs effective communication at various stages of its business processes. There are different communication methods that are used in organizations for sharing different kind of information among the different people of the organization (Blundel, 2008). The purpose of this paper is to identify the most prominent and effective methods of communicating within an organization and discussing the advantages and disadvantages of the selected methods. Further, the paper will involve using suitable communication methods under different scenarios. A brief discussion about the most effective communication methods is presented as follows.

Communication Methods

There are different communication methods that are available and appropriate for communicating within the organization for sharing information among the employees. These communication methods enable the people within an organization to continue the business functions of the organization effectively and efficiently, and achieve the operational, tactical and strategic objectives of the organization. The most suitable communication methods that have been identified are mentioned as follows.

These are the most suitable and effective methods of communication within an organization. The most significant advantages and disadvantages of these communication methods are discussed as follows.

Face to Face Communication

The most significant advantage of face to face communication is that people could understand the non verbal cues of the each other, which makes the communication more effective and understanding. There is a disadvantage of communicating face to face as well. This disadvantage is the shortage of time, an individual has very limited time to address and respond to the other individual, so it needs strong communication skills and abilities to make face to face communication effective in limited time (Brounstein, 2010).

Voice Mail

The prominent advantage of communicating through voice mail is that it saves time for responding to the other person. A response could be given to the other person only by a single click. Along with saving the time of communication, there is also a disadvantage of voice mail communication that the implementation of an effective voice mail system is a lengthy process. It is important to understand that the benefits of voice mail system could be obtained if an effective voice mail system is implemented in the organization.

Video Conferencing

The most prominent advantage of video conferencing is that managers are able to communicate with other representatives of the same organization or other businesses located at different situations using this real time technology.
