Communication Process - A Case Study

Introduction

This paper is an in depth analysis of the “About Us” section of a famous operating system, Ubuntu. The emphasis of the analysis will be on the target audience, the business communication skills and methods employed in writing the text, usage of media, the main points of the message delivered, who are the opinion leader and in the end suggestions are made for improvement in the text. The reason for which the “About Us” section of Ubuntu was chosen to study the communication skills they use in their text is solely because of the way they have inspired the world by serving the humanity and providing people with a series of free operating systems. All versions of Ubuntu are, perfectly designed and user friendly (Orloff, 2008). The best thing about Ubuntu is that, this operating system runs not only on the desktop and laptops but from a range of embedded systems, PDAs, smart phones to a range of fastest computers, mainframes and supercomputers.
