Compare and Contrast

Introduction

This paper will compare and contrast the forms of human art by two artists, Tony Oursler and Ron Mueck. The two artists are known for their representation of the humans in different forms. It is very difficult to express the humans in art due to the lack of expressions and emotions; however, these two artists have done a brilliant job in doing so.

Tony Oursler's Human Forms

Tony Oursler choose to integrate human in his works, including human body parts such as eyes, mouth, ears, etc. These faces and body parts are projected onto forms, often round, turning the projections fantastic characters. Tony Oursler worked a lot on the duality between the real and imaginary parts of which become real living creatures here that can disturb the viewer's perception (Oursler, pp. 28).

Tony also plays heavily on the eyes. The viewer is always more or less directly observed and this is what makes his works disturbing. It has its main references in the European art form: Futurism, Surrealism and German Expressionist theatre. Later, he became interested in conceptual art and became an important artist of the movement of the 80s. It is expressed by the facilities he designed in a flexible and ambivalent. He sees a simultaneous way to deconstruct and reconstruct the museum. His work is organized around the inventory of regressions of contemporary fears and psychological disorders. These disorders, he extracted mainly of two worlds: that of social conditioning and the domestic world.
