Abstract

The stimulation of the economic growth has been affected due to consumer spending. The effect of this has been caused due to losses in jobs which have resulted in consumer not spending the money on luxury items. This could also be due to an increase in media reports on the current economic situation where it's leaving customers to not spend. Or maybe customers are finding prices increasingly beyond their affordability. The research is based on unemployment prevailing in the UK's economy. Moreover, effects of unemployment over the economy are also explained in detail along with the impact on consumer spending. Explanations with regard to recent statistics of United Kingdom unemployment rate and consumer spending is been done. Government roles in making reforms, unemployment programmes and subsidies are also considered in the report. Lastly, unethical issues are discussed which states the government and public debt and corporate cultural differences which are contributing to unemployment in the UK's labour market

Introduction

In this project, we will explore a complex integrated work based theme. The theme for the project is the impact of unemployment in consumer spending. In order to research the project, critical analyses of literature review are to be taken which has researched about the impact of unemployment in the UK's economy. The report states the types of unemployment including voluntary and involuntary unemployment. Moreover, effects of unemployment over the economy are also explained in detail along with the impact on consumer spending. Explanations with regard to recent statistics of United Kingdom unemployment rate and consumer spending is been done. Government roles in making reforms, unemployment programmes and subsidies are also considered in the report. Lastly, unethical issues are discussed which states the government and public debt and corporate cultural differences which are contributing to unemployment in the UK's labour market.

Reason for choosing the subject

The bankers have contributed towards the current situation of the economy which the impact of the debt has resulted in the government making cuts (Davies, 2013). This has affected the working class leaving them to struggle. Not only has it affected the working class, it has also affected the vulnerable pensioners who have contributed to the economy and now at pension they are facing cut backs. I will test my findings with secondary research and primary sources. Secondary research would include literature reviews and newspaper articles where statistics can be generated.
