Introduction

Man has evolved a great deal since his creation. He has gone through a number or centuries and has given birth to many cultures and civilization. Avery culture and civilization was somehow related to the religion the inhabitants would follow. Moreover, the culture and civilization also indicated the extent to which man was close to nature. The relationship between man and his surroundings has always played a vital part in deciding the very course of the culture and civilization the people would adopt. Two of such theories that further proves the importance, role and affects of nature in men's life are the theories of Theogony and Genesis. These are basically the theories that explains the myths of how, when and why the universe was created. Hence, these theories are basically about the mysteries of why men were created and the puzzles of he is affected by his surroundings.

Hesiod's Theogony and Genesis

People belonging to any culture, civilization or religion will always feel the curiosity of finding the mysteries of their origin and the origin of their mother planet earth. Therefore, every culture or civilization will carry certain myths including stories of reasons of existence of both humans and earth. Similar is the case with the first book about Christian and Jewish Bibles written by Hesiods. This book involves the details of the cultures of Theogony and Genesis. Genesis is the Hebrew idea of the creation of the world. However, the Theonogy by Hesiods is the representation of Greek point of view of the relationship between men and nature (Blake, 1999).
