This paper aims to present and analyze the beat within publication volume A/B 18.05/06 year 2013. Editor's note

The purpose of the editorial note is to welcome the new participants of the beat within as well as to introduce the topics for the current publication of the beat within. The editorial note also aims to share a thoughtful note by Shreya. The note addresses the opportunity that beat within provides to the incarcerated youth (Annie E. Casey foundation, n.d.) who spent their time in prison. The beat within provides them an opportunity to communicate their feelings and thoughts. The note addresses that incarcerated children needs an opportunity to express their feelings. It helps the readers to understand those students and children. It helps the leader to understand the feelings of those incarcerated youth. Moreover, it facilitates the readers to perceive and view their own lives from a different perspective. It tells the readers that language is not only about transferring the words or information that one knows. It is about the way feelings are translated into words to communicate what is in the heart.

The editorial note assigns the beat within participants following topics:
