CRITICAL APPRAISAL

Critical appraisal

Introduction

The Bristol tool will be used in this study for the critical appraisal of the article. The reason for using this tool is that the tool identifies each and every important aspect of a study and analyzes and studies that aspects step after the other. This will help in giving an accurate findings and appraisal of the article being critically appraised. The limitations of this study, as admitted by the author herself are the inability of correlation based studies to provide evidence for causality, and the sample being a 'convenience sample' as participants was aware of the motives of the study. This suggests that the study should involve a predictive design i.e. measures of the same construct should be measured sometimes in the future and the similar sets of data are compared for ascertaining validity (Culwell, 2010,, 13).

Critical appraisal

Data and preliminary identification of the amount of material to support the view, there is a large "missing" literature not previously finishing. Care to provide Internet search for "missing" palliative treatment of non-indexed literature, supplement the existing bibliographic databases, and expanded coverage of palliative material . Only through extensive literature search before hand, in the systematic review and meta-analysis provides a very important significance, is now available electronically. Cannot fully enjoy this "missing" lack of knowledge of literature and allowed to remain in the duplication of work done, rather than building on existing knowledge of the risk groups. Care search is to correct these problems and promote EBP and future research directions highlight key platform. Structure and function of the site support, EBP, and the identification and evaluation of information critical skills, through access to the search strategy, the level of evidence, audit tools and the latest literature summarized in development (Culwell, 2010,, 13).

Palliative care community now has access to a more comprehensive literature base and resources to support the combination of practical knowledge. As most of the materials collected within the "gray literature" concept are that it may not be subject to the same process of peer review the published literature, it may be more evidence of the standard variables (Forsyth & McKenzi, 2006). However, this material is not only to capture the history of the discipline, and knowledge, lack of formal peer review of the bibliographic database for many different reasons, which can add value to future research and current practices. For the discipline itself, the care system that already has a search base to contribute to the evidence and it emphasized that the practice of palliative output in a public forum. The project also provides a template for other emerging disciplines and models to capture their research and comments, to support progress in this area. (Heyman & David, 2008) (Culwell, 2010,, 13).

Search methods concern the comprehensive coverage of palliative care information also helps identify gaps in knowledge. This can promote the research questions, more considerate of the existing data to support appropriate use in clinical studies, including the 'new study power calculation and recruitment, clinical ...
