PARTICIPANTS OF THE SURVEY

In this research, there will be three sets of participants, which will be divided into two groups:

A combination of age, gender and occupation

A group of Human Resource students and professors of the institute

The first group will be questioned about their perception on the role of human resource management within an organization and how the department contributes towards the goals, strategies and operations of the business. Additionally, the group shall be questioned on the role of Information Technology in a business and how the human resource department of a company can improve and enhance its performance by implementing an efficient information technology framework within the organization. To narrow down the research for this thesis and to make it much more convenient for the researcher, the country of Oman and its businesses shall be analysed and studied.

RELEVANCE OF QUESTIONS TO THE RESEARCH

The aim of this research is to understand the relationship between IT and the HR department of a business in Oman. The purpose of these research questions is to understand the perception of the respondents towards information technology in a business, how they believe HR to be linked or related to IT, what level of impact do the respondents believe that IT has over HR and how different employees belonging to different age groups and educational backgrounds react and respond to the role of IT in a business's HR department. These questions can be used to compare the current stance of the HR system of any given business in Oman and analyse how the HR system would improve by implementing a proper IT framework.
