Abstract

Literary criticism does not mean criticizing someone's thoughts. It is the ability to take information and make decisions without being influenced by your own opinions or perceptions

It helps us to gain control of our thought processes.

Literary Criticism

Literary criticism is the skill that allows us to objectively analyze the information we already have, evaluate and interpret data and experience in order to reach clear and definite conclusions. Literary criticism is one of the most essential skills. This skill is used in almost every aspect of our daily lives. It is also plays a crucial role in the business and academic success, and it is not taught at the school as it is not a part of subjects such as science, math or business (Davies, 2006).

Formalist Approach

Literary criticism is the concept, or more precisely this field of study is not addressed as such in literary studies because secondary work is taught of the authors of the literature. We read works, we also learn of elements of literary history and one learns the classification of works by genre (epistolary novel, poetry, drama, autobiography). We did not have to wonder what the essence of criticism is. Criticism is not the subject of a theoretical approach, after which you wonder what the literary critic is. However, it is the practice in the form of academic commentary compound such as the analytical reading. We talk about works that are written in texts, one thinks about a poem, a scene or a fictional character. These prepositions indicate that we built a second speech, our comments are appreciated, and there is possibly of a judge of textual construction (Raymond, 2010).
