Culture Adaptation

Introduction

As a military personal, I have visited various countries including United Kingdom, India and South Africa. All three countries have vast differences in their culture, as I had to make adjustments while visiting these countries. It was not an easy task to adopt these changes, however as professionals, we are obliged to adopt the cultural differences. When I visited United Kingdom, I did not had to prepare much for my visit, however, when visiting South Africa and India, I had to go through the cultural differences of these countries. In this paper, I will be discussing the differences of culture in the countries and the problems I faced when visiting these countries.

United Kingdom Culture

The British society, is multicultural society and that the British government is eager to offer the same opportunities to its citizens and other people residing in United Kingdom, whatever their ethnicity or religion. It is very much like United states, where people from different courtiers and ethnicity reside. The language of the country is almost similar as people here also speak English, so I did not had to face much issues when it comes to adopting the culture. When leaving for United Kingdom, I did not had to train myself before leaving for the country.

British family life has had major changes in recent decades, including a significant increase in people living alone and a marriage rate is the lowest since 1986, the authors of the thesis developed based on a sample of 3,000 people. The british youth is increasingly becoming part of the global culture. And this change has been brought about due to the demographic diversity that is increasingly becoming part of the great Britain. Finally, the advantage of youth groups, interest forces any manner that each culture has its own style youth Ultimate sense of taste, particularly in music, clothes, language, which enables us to talk about the uniqueness of each group according to its own style. This change is very much similar to the American culture, so it did not pose much issues.

According to a survey conducted by the IPPR (Institute for Public Policy Research), the young Britishers are the worst behaved in Europe. In all indicators of misbehavior, drugs, alcohol, violence, promiscuity, etc , Britain was at the top of the list. One of the indicators shows that the adults themselves are beginning to fear the youth. We had to deal with such issues to control such people, who often created problems within the society.

India

The weather in India is pretty warm, so I had to adjust to that, which was the biggest issue. Although, we were mostly in the military dress, but I also had to keep clothes that were suitable to wear in such a warm weather. When I was leaving for India, I had to prepare myself mentally for the task and also prepare physically for tough conditions ahead.
