Culture and changing landscape structure

Introduction

The article that has been selected is “Culture and changing landscape structure” by Joan Iverson Nassauer. This article relates to the statement that culture structures landscapes and landscapes are embodied by culture. The central point of this article is a statement that “culture and landscape interact in a feedback loop in which culture structures landscapes and landscapes inculcate culture.” I agree with the statement that “culture structures landscape and landscape inculcate culture” because it has been observed that relationship between landscape and culture is a two way relation or feedback process. Culture is an effective means of understanding the landscape structure. In addition to this, culture also provides information to identify human actions and their contribution to construction of landscape that might not exist, but could be worked on those landscapes on order to involve some ecological functions on these landscapes (Nassauer, pp. 235).

My specific reaction to this article is in accordance with the existing need of emerging needs of ecology. It is very important to understand that human behavior have an impact on the change in the landscape structure. In my opinion, it is very important to understand that the culture plays an important role in shaping human behavior, and in turn the behavior of individuals plays a vital role in changing the structure of landscape. So, in my opinion it is very right to say that culture structures landscape and landscape inculcate culture.
