In formal education, a curriculum is the set of courses and their content, offered at a college or university. As an idea, curriculum derives from the Latin word for race course, referring to the course of events and experiences through which children grow into mature adults. A curriculum is mandatory, and is based on a broader agenda that merely states what issues must be understood and at what level to achieve a particular grade level.
The curriculum covers the entire scope of training and experience that happens inside and outside of school, not just the experiences that occur at school, experiences that are unplanned and undirected, and experiences intentionally directed the deliberate formation of adult members of society. Education in Iran is highly centralized and divided to K-12 education and higher education.
