Data Presentation

Introduction

The below discussion is about the different forms of data presentation in research reports. Data can be analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. (Lind et al, 2011) in their study explained the various techniques of data analysis by different graphical methods. They concluded that the qualitative data can be analyzed by using histograms, pie charts, line graph, histograms etc. This study also reflects the types of reports according to the given cases.

There are various types of reports like situational analysis report, financial analysis report, compliance report , marketing research report etc. the choice of the report is made according to the given situation or case. The discussion also reflects the techniques of making report with physical presentation.

Methods of Data Presentation

There are various methods to present the data graphically or by charts like bar graph, pie charts, line graph etc. The most common method of data presentation by chart is Line and Bar Graph. In below discussion the description of line graph is given with the advantages of using this technique.

Answer 1

The data can be easily interpreted by line graph rather than a table. The line graphs are usually used to show the behavior of one variable for a period of time. Generally time appears on horizontal axis and computed variable appears on y axis.

The best time to use this technique is that when the researcher wants to analyze the changing in values of the variable with the passage of time.

The main advantage of this technique is that by using line graph we can compare various continuous data sets more easily than other techniques. Furthermore, inference of interim data can be done from graph line. Fig 1 shows the graphical picture of line graph.
