The life of an individual alters in more than one ways when he or she gets marriage. Despite the change that marriage brings to one's life, there are certain changes a married person can cause in the society and society also get affected by changes in the life of a married person. Divorce is an enormous trauma for parents and children. Often steeped in the pain of their grief, parents do not realize the disruption of children, leaving them inadvertently delivered to your thoughts, fears and insecurities that have been accumulating over time. It is essential that they can express emotions to prevent mind and health balance.

Divorce is the legal termination of marriage relationship. It has many adverse effects such as substance abuse, social isolation, health problems and depression. Just like marriage, divorce also causes its impact on society. The greatest impact that the act of divorce causes is on the children of the married couple. The emotional effects of dissolving the marriage can be significant for the marriage partner's children or other dependents and extended family members and friends. Moreover, the emotional effects can be great for family members. Feelings of hurt, loss, and anger often occur which affect the self-esteem and self-confidence of an individual that affects their social participation also it becomes a hurdle in the personality development of such individuals. Rates of divorce were increasing and stabilizing at historically high levels during the past 30 years. The divorce trends over the past 30 years, when examined from an ecological/exchange perspective, suggest that the degree to which men and women are dependent on their marriages has changed and that these changes are the results of broader cultural and societal transformations. For instance, nowadays women have become more independent, and they rarely rely on men financially. This gives an edge to women and strengthens their position when they want to end up a relationship. This is one of the reasons of increased rate of divorce in the society which results in an increased number of single mothers and fathers. This aspect of single parents affects the upbringing of the children.
