Deviant behavior

The term itself pertains to the set of actions that are violating the social norms or status quo. The phenomenon of deviant behavior arises when the individuals are tended towards mistreating people, as well as, violating the social and cultural code of conduct in this regard. The term is defined as “the set of actions, attitudes and behaviors that violate the social code of conduct acceptable by the society”.

About the paper

The paper addresses two types of deviant behaviors, as discussed in the last section, pertaining to the violation of the social norms. The paper is based upon the notion that as societies evolve, the premise of developing the criminal and non-criminal acts also shuffles. The premise could be further explained when the entire things shifts to the norms that are not acceptable to the norms that are acceptable and vice versa. The paper addresses two deviant behaviors;

The paper addresses the concept, their history, their present status and the recommendations for each one of them to help the society grow better. The paper justifies how they became acceptable from deviant behaviors, as well as, their status as a criminal or non-criminal act in the past and the present.

Inter-racial marriage

Human societies are built out of several races and cultures. In any human society, the homogeneity is promoted to this day, and therefore, people living in the same race are far more affirmative in having their generations getting raised by the same race. It is a wide-spread belief that the people of one race are more comfortable getting married in the same race, rather than, getting into an inter-racial marriage. The term inter-racial marriage is defined as “the acts of two people getting married to each other, whereas, both belong to different racial origins”.

The history

The evolution of the globalism is based upon calling the whole world 'one blue planet with inhabitance of human beings'. Previously, racism was at peak, and therefore, races were aggressive and violent towards each other. The people belonging to one race were bound to criticize and condemn other races in the world, so as to show their solidarity and regard to their own race. Anyone become considerate to any other race behind the call of necessity was called disloyal to his own race. The key rationale was the lack of scientific advancement that could bring the world together, and people get to know about each other regardless of racist and cultural boundaries (Franzese, 2009).

The context

In the context mentioned above, the inter-racial marriages were a crime in the constitutions of nations. If one marries a spouse that belongs to a race other than his own, he is getting an enemy and dis-loyalty to the race, and therefore, he was a criminal. The inter-racial marriages were classified as one deviant behavior in the ancient societies, and the people who commit it were sent to jail; given several punishments and penalties.
