Digitisation has become very much important in the archives. Digital cultural heritage includes informational resources on the culture created by the digitization of information resources and traditional analog media, and materials once created in digital form. This text, static and moving images, three-dimensional images, audio files, databases, software, web pages, portals, websites, electronic publications, etc., exist in a variety of formats. Without special efforts to preserve digital cultural heritage, the volume and diversity of which is constantly increasing, it will inevitably and quickly lost (Lynch, 2005, p. 9).

The process of digitization is accessible and supportive for all type of materials in archives and libraries. It helps the manuscripts, maps, musical recordings and other moving images. In order to capture the material of archives for digitization, the archives are using different hardware and software. The digitization helps in understanding the new technologies, and proper collection of the material in archives.

It is a common phenomenon that Archives should preserve the digital material in order to have a positive impact on the number of different people (Pinfield, 2003, p. 9). Research and development in digital preservation is interchangeable in archives and libraries, in different countries. The two types of institutions are apparently using the same standards and the same tools to reach similar solutions, but further analysis shows that there are considerable differences.
