The Rememberer

The author, Aimee Bender incorporates symbolism and metaphors to portray messages. Her style of writing is magic realism. Many of her stories are dreamlike. In this story, "The Rememberer", Bender's feelings while watching her father go through the progression of Alzheimer disease portrayed by the main character. Ben's reverse evolution symbolizes Alzheimer, and Ben symbolizes Bender's father. The, whole story about the main character's feelings of loss and pain, and her unconditional love for Ben.
