This paper includes a company's scenario with around 20 staff members employed to manufacture small printed circuit board. The company has been in this business since 1980. Client companies send board layouts and circuit specifications to the company after negotiation. A major number of smaller suppliers are providing components to this company for the production of completed boards. Independent systems are used by the individual departments for operating purpose. Standard commercial desktop accounting software is used by the accounts department; old application running on a single computer and the sales is in operation for the components stored, email spread sheet attachments are used for sharing data by management and marketing staff. Local network is responsible to share the copy of this data from a file server but the organization of the data is not up to standard. Therefore manager decided that this software is no longer workable and needs to be replaced from the other software.

Management stated the following specific issues for the replacement of the software through some other software that best fits to the accounting procedures of the company.

The stores is often either missing components or carrying excess stock because of poor communication between sales and purchasing.

Management has a poor understanding of sales trends and buying patterns because of the lack of data organization.

The stores have to manually add incoming stock to their system without being able to employ the suppliers' barcodes.

Administrative staff can only get information about the status of stock by asking stores for analyses from the stock control software.

We need to discuss the current trends in taking management strategies for resolving the problems associated with the current software and need to replace it through some other software that can encounter those problems and imply on to e-business strategies with technology proposals to provide a solution. We further discuss the impact of new software in relation with the older one and analyze the existing workforce and find out the need for introducing the permanent staff or outsourcing. This implication of the new software will also discuss the financial issues and negative consequences that can be built in proposing the software.
