Introduction

The field of educational psychology is rich with psychological disorders that are ahuge hurdle in the successful learning for children. We need to address and remove the barriers in the successful learning for children. The role of intellectual and learning disabilities is immense in not letting children fulfill their learning objectives. Additionally, the psychological hazards associated with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder have been detrimental for the children's growth and learning. We need to address the challenges posed by psychological hazards in order to pave the way for children's growth in terms of learning.

Difference between Specific Learning Disabilities and Intellectual Disabilities

Specific Learning Disabilities

Specific Learning disabilities pose threat for a successful learning experience. In an acute specific learning disability, individuals are unable to acquire nad analyze information in an appropriate manner. Specific learning disabilities are characterized by a flawed learning mechanism. As a result, these specific learning disabilities are bound to have psychological hazards for the affected individual (Anon, 2012).

Intellectual Disabilities

The growth of children's mindset gets hampered massively because of Intellectual Disabilities. The thinking and problem solving skills get affected to a great extent due to the intellectual disabilities. Intellectual Disabilities are not considered a form of mental illness. This is a key differentiating feature of Intellectual Disabilities in comparison with specific learning disabilities (Anon, 2012).

Inattention

Children are plagued by symptom of inattention due to the flawed mental state. The symptom of inattention is known to induce depression and anxiety in children. When children age more, they are prone to be affected by Depression and anxiety. Since they cannot focus on a task, they often resort to deviation of different activities. By being inattentive, children often cannot focus or concentrate on a given task. They are bound to miss details and switch from one task to another on a rapid basis. They have difficulty in focusing attention on conducting a task and learning positives from it (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, 2013).

Since their mental state is hampered to a great extent, they are not able to focus and concentrate on a specific task. Their mindset is not following an appropriate mechanism.
