Executive Summary

The paper provides the review on the effects discrimination has on young disabled women in the UK. It is a fact that at present sate, the situation of women with disability especially in Europe has not been under much political importance and visible as much it requires and demands to be. As on one side, the issues related to women and on the other the problem relates to the people with disabilities are being separately addressed with an increasing urgency and attention, unfortunately not much steps have been taken towards tacking the dual form of discrimination where women with disabilities are being subjected. There are not much sufficient level of awareness for the existence of this twofold source for discrimination, the effects has been un-researched. It has remained an ignorant fact as its constituent part and measures taken appears to be based on the idea for two aspects of discrimination that needs to deal separately. The women with disabilities have been historically being neglected through those that are being concerned with the problem of disabilities and also the feminist movement. From the last decades some serious steps have been made for understanding and identifying the forces that shapes in their lives. Thus, with this continuous discrimination with disabled women are actually exacerbated by all the disadvantages that results due to their disability, in turn, it varies in accordance with it seriousness and nature. The disability of women magnifies the difficulties which have already encountered and also are being used as the justification for a continued discrimination against them. One of the biggest challenge for disabled women has been convincing society that they are a class apart, the fact that having a disability does not make them useless people, who are trained to work. It is a fact that the studies on women with the disability needs to be undertaken in all the fields and statistics that should be broken down by gender (Arditti, 1984, 12).
