Effects of collectivism on the performance and communication in MNCs
Introduction
Large business companies are greatly dependant over the performance of individuals. Therefore, how the performances is evaluated by the managers is the main concern in management. According to the literature related to management, the appraisals for performance practices are linked to the method of showing the criteria of performance and communication, the participation of employee as well as the frequency of giving feedback for performances. The solutions for the issues in MNCs in UAE are being done in many ways. Considering the force of collectivism that is greatly linked with the performances through the individual perspective as the feedback is basically evaluated and is linked to other individuals as well. Furthermore, collectivism would also show signs of avoidance based over the negative feedback that is being given. The nature of image and information is being decided through the nature of competition within various societies (Kok, 2011, p. 103). Individuals within an organization are more motivated through attaining feedbacks for their performances, however the collectivists are motivated to gather feedback regarding the failures as differentiating on the basis of success is considered as a factor of independency and self concept whereas the need for feedback of failures would be able to serve a wider purpose for improvising the welfare of an organization (Chanchai, Pisit, 2010, p. 278).
Problem Statement
In a rapidly changing nature of business and aggressive competitor among the industries, the multinational organizations are facing the challenges of managing effectively. Since the multinational corporation has a wide scope of business operations, therefore their management needs are complex, strategic management is concept that may concept to the success of these international companies (Chonlatis, Barbara, 2012, p. 51). However it is important to understand the extent to which strategic management supports the MNC's success and how well these organizations make the most of the strategic management concepts (Dierdorff, Suzanne, James, 2011, p. 24). The cross cultural management also becomes crucial and besides catering to the local needs of the customers, the management also has to ensure that the diverse employee needs are also met. The managers of the multinational companies need to establish the strategies and need to deal with multiple cultures, government and the systems. All these challenges make the MNCs in UAE undertake the policies that are effective in coping with the day to day challenges. The MNCs in UAE face the technological, innovational, human resources, and logistical issues which require special consideration from the part of the cross cultural management (Inju, Aidan, 2009, p. 297).
