Introduction

Every human being becomes frail after spending precious days of youth except those who die early. Old age is a time when people are not able to fight back due to physical or mental issues. This is the time when some people will ill wills take advantage of those weak people. It not only is a trend in countries where people are less educated and less civilized, but it is a common trend everywhere around the globe. The only difference is the level of intensity of doing this inhuman act.

Statistics show a very bad picture of senior being abused alone in United States. The percentage of elderly people (more than 60 Yrs of ages) bearing abuse in United States in the year 2010 was 9.5%. This proves that is a very critical issue and a big shame for the society. Out of these 3.42% are individuals which are facing these abuses in nursing homes. This means that 36% of the recognized abused elderly Americans are suffering due their own nursing homes (www.statisticbrain.com).

Nursing homes are answerable in case they are not keeping good care of the elder people they have in their homes. Their mental or physical health is something most important for the society's well being as they are the honorable members of the society. Negligence might cause a big hurdle for the nursing homes in the future in case they are reluctant. The nursing homes which were cited in the year 1996 for a different sort of violations are drastically increasing since then (Ruppe, 2008).

In the recent decade issue of elder abuse is being given ample consideration. This is due to the fact that this has a big influence on the health of these victims.
