Introduction

BBS Advertising is a small agency, although they are growing at an appreciative pace. As an Organisational Behaviour Consultant, I have to evaluate the current practices at BBS advertising and establish some recommendations which can help them to prove their organisational behaviour. The improved Organisational Behaviour (OB) will, in turn, facilitate the management and employees achieve their set targets and goals. Out of various aspects of OB I have selected to emphasise on Leadership in the organisation. The potency of their impact is so workable that it dictates how employees should interact with each other (Childress, 2009, p. 3). Here if, BBS advertising want teamwork as a nucleus of the organisation, it should occur at the top. Otherwise, no big strategies will give the needed results. Senior executives should support and co-operate with each other in order to promote such a culture across the departments. As a consultant, I had to figure out the culture of the firm. What types of jokes is part of norms, what is the environment of the rest rooms, how they deal with their suppliers and customers. First I will elaborate on the concept of OB.

Organisational Behaviour

The study of Organisational Behaviour (OB) gives an in-depth knowledge of the procedures and helps comprehend, forecast, maintain and alter behaviour of the employees in the context of an organisation. It mainly deals with the employee's routine at work activities like their jobs, attendance, productivity and turn over. It addresses individual behaviour, interpersonal behaviour and organisations' behaviour. Firms felt the need some study that could directly address the new emerging trends in the world like globalisation, diverse workforce, varied demographics, employees' expectations, need for change, quality, competencies and productivity, innovation and ethical behaviour. OB explores the influence of individuals, groups and structure on overall behaviour of an organisation and directs them towards improving the efficiency and reliability of the whole organisation. Formally it focuses on certain aspects of the behaviour: motivation, interpersonal skills, team work, perception and attribution, creativity, stress and leadership. The pressure on each organisation is mounting day by day. They need to strengthen the effectiveness of their operations and gain competitive advantage. The management has to skilfully position their resource because the execution will make all the difference (Dailey, 2012, p.21). Either it will score an organisation a competitive identity or fail the strategic plan and the deployed resources. OB basically enhances management's knowledge about their resources (including HR). Ethical values are deep rooted psychology as compared to attitudes such as job interest, commitment, satisfaction. Human nature considers values as mental evaluation instrument which evaluates the behaviours of own and others. Values shape the set of behaviour in an individual to judge between right and wrong.
