Introduction

Ethics are norm and values that helps individuals to distinguish between the right and wrong. It defines the code of conduct for people to ensure that their behavior does not deviate from ethical principles. It ensures equality and justice in decision making for individuals, which would make certain that no one is harmed (Daniel, 2003). To confined with ethical principles is crucial in every field, however since health is most important aspect of human life therefore it is essential to provide extra care to the matter and issues that are related to health (Butts & Rich, 2012).

Discussion

The case study chosen for discussing the ethical values and principles in case study 3 based on which it will be analyzed what is the ethical issue and how one can resolve it. It is important for the health care provider to be informed that he will be held accountable for his actions and have the responsibility to make decisions accordingly. Therefore they should be engaged in continuous practice and life-long learning process to keep themselves updates with the changes and make sure that they are competent in the field. They should acquire appropriate knowledge and skills that are needed in the field to remain competent (www.bio.davidson.edu).

As mentioned in the case that the client Anita had a motor vehicle accident due to which she has been in a vegetative state and hence now she has to be fed by using gastrostomy tube, however her parents did not want it to be put in, yet the doctors decided to proceed with their decision and it was revealed to Anita's parents when they returned. Later the nurse suggested that the tube can be removed if it leaks however doctor and rest of the health care team refused to do so as it was not possible. The ethical issue that aroused was that before proceeding with the decision health care team should have asked for consent from Anita's parents and also that the nurse suggested removing the tube which was not possible.
