Should evolution be taught in the public schools?

Introduction

Thesis statement

Evolution should be taught in public schools

Evolution is a gradual change over time. The earth and all the organisms on it have both been evolving over the past 4.5 billion years and will continue to do so until the end of time. Evidence for evolution has been found in various places. In fact, almost every fossil is an example of evolution. A fossil is a trace or remains of an organism that has been preserved by natural processes. Full soft-tissue organisms have often been preserved often occur in amber or ice. When an organism has its water replaced with minerals it is said to become petrified. Charles Darwin made significant strides in the field of evolution.

It is very difficult to understand the crucial aspect of microbiological challenge in 21st century. It is very important to educate the coming generation of scientist to give them tools for developing novel treatments against emerging virus, deadly microbes and antibiotic resistant bacteria. They are requires to see how these change and develop, which needs to them to know about evolution. It is very sad to say that still evolution is not being taught in public schools especially as some parts of society are firm and says that science is hidden under religious doctrine (Simpson, 2007).

Teaching evolution in public schools will give surety that the students are receiving better and most importantly science based education because today science is doing much advancement. Evolution has to do nothing with constitutional rights, instead it flows from the principle that children should get teachings about what is the truth, which can also be said as making humans understand about the world or universe. Evolution is a deep and simple concept since it refers to the concept of species changing as time passes.

In definition, a theory is a coherent group of general propositions used as principles of explanation for a class of phenomena, for example, Einstein's theory of relativity or the theory of evolution.

Throughout the U.S., especially in "Bible Belt" but not only them, numerous examples can be found living in hot battle on evolution. A year ago, has charge of the education system in Georgia, Cathy to try to remove the word "evolution" of the curriculum and to use other expressions, after saying that it is "a word that causes many negative comments", but after a week had to cancel the decision. Alabama attached page for a textbook dealing with evolution, which is set to teaching Darwin's "controversial theory", and stressed that any theory about the origin of life is not based on facts (Kristi, 2006).
