One part of Great Britain that is not too well known is the country of Wales. Wales is located on a peninsula directly across the Irish Sea from Ireland. The peninsula is approximately 130 miles long from north to south and approximately from east to west at its widest point. Wales is part of Great Britain, as it is near to Scotland and England. England lies to the east of Wales, and Scotland lies to the north-east of Wales (and to the north of England).
