Study Questions

HO: There is no difference in the depression, levels of empowerment and self-efficacy self-care of the patients with ESRD who attend an empowerment program versus those who do not attend the program.

For the experimental group, the mean score of the baseline depression was 14.

The average posttest score of the self-efficacy self-care for the experimental group was 96, which was 6.44 points higher as compared to the average score of baseline that is 89.56 as on average the experimental group subjects scored higher on the posttest in comparison to the baseline.

The depression posttest scores had high variation as indicated by the high standard deviation that is 10.55, in comparison to the standard deviation that is 10.34 for the control group. However, there is minimum difference in the standard deviation of both groups.

The arithmetic average is 101.08

The mean empowerment scores of the experimental group indicated the maximum increase from baseline to posttest, which is an expected result. The reason such is that empowerment program would have a greater effect on level of empowerment and also on the self-efficacy self-care more than on the depression scores.

It can be said that there was no significant difference between the experimental and control groups in demographic and clinical characteristics, thus, it can be concluded that there was no significant difference in length of time on dialysis for experimental and control groups.

b. 96 was the average self-care self-efficacy posttest score for the experimental group.

The given statement reflects that one standard deviation from the mean for the empowerment variable is equal to 8.99. Moreover, the standard deviation shows the amount of variability in the control group at baseline.

Questions to be Graded

d. Experimental (answer)

The mean score was 97.12.

For the experimental group, the mean posttest depression score is 13.36. Moreover, for the experimental group, the mean baseline ...
