Extinction of Homo erectus

Introduction

The evolution of human beings involves several transition periods before becoming Homo sapiens that are the modern human beings and the most advanced form of evolution of human beings. One of the most important transition period occurred in the history of human beings is the evolution of hominids into Homo erectus. This paper discusses the evolution and the extinction of Homo erectus with respect to their elimination from Africa where they were first originated. It is important to initially analyze the evolution of home erectus and their followings in order to assess their extinction and elimination from Africa.

The early human creatures took several steps to evolve into Homo sapiens human beings. The early historians depend upon the primary data to develop pictures and images of their past and history but they had no record of a history which they can use for their analysis. The lack of record made the archeologists and anthropologist to rely on the information provided by the archeological information and the biological evidences. They used this data to devise theories and concepts about the past and history of civilization. However, in modern times, there are several comprehensive methods and tools that can be sued for analyzing and assessing the history (Trigger, 2003).

Pushing Out of Homo erectus from Africa

The data and information collected through the use of biological evidences and information along with the archeological facts and figures lead t the first identification of the human beings. The creatures were considered to be hominid which looks like human beings. These human like organisms subsist in the continent of Africa. These hominids lived for around three to four millions years in the continent of Africa. The earliest hominids invent the simple and first stone tools. They were also called as Australopithecines who originated from Africa and then flourished into other parts of the world including South Africa and east (Spielvogel, 2011).

Evolution of Homo erectus

The hominids developed into another stage of human development which is the Homo erectus form of human beings. They were termed as Homo erectus due to the posture of their body which was straight and upright. Homo erectus means an upright human being. The emergence of Homo erectus leads to the development of varied and larger size of tools in the ancient civilization. They lived approximately 1.5 million years ago. Homo erectus left Africa and migrated to other continents of the world including Asia and Europe (Spielvogel, 2011).

After the emergence of Homo erectus and their moving into different parts of the world, they transformed into the latest form of human development known as Homo sapiens. This transformation began approximately 250,000 years ago. These Homo sapiens spread from inside to the outside of Africa and considered to be the modern humans. The Homo sapiens were transformed into Neanderthals which became extinct during by the 10,000 B.C.E. the emergence of Homo sapiens sapiens replaced the Neanderthals by the 30,000 B.C.E. This is the latest form of human beings and can ...
