Formation of Earth

There is a diverse range of theories that explicate the reason of Earth's origin. The most common and widely recognized notion was developed by “Big Bang Theory”. The research aims to highlight various theories that expound the origin of earth. It also aims to explain that Big Bang theory is the most reliable theory which explicates the origin of earth.

The big bang is not the only modem theory that attempts to explain how the universe began. The steady-state theory rivaled the big bang in scientific circles until the discovery of background radiation by COBB. Basically, this theory assumes that the universe always was and always will be. There was no beginning, and there will be no end. The steady-state theory does not, however, adequately explain the fact that the universe is expanding (Fleisher, pp. 45-50).

To account for the observed expansion, proponents of this alternative theory suggest that new hydrogen atoms (the type of atoms that make up most of the universe) are created continuously in space at a rate equal to the rate at which matter is carried away by receding galaxies. The steady-state theory, however, does not offer a reasonable explanation as to where the new hydrogen atoms come. Although its proponents like the steady-state theory's philosophical appeal, most astronomers today reject it, arguing that, since energy (and mass) must be conserved in an isolated system (the universe), new matter (hydrogen atoms) can 't be spontaneously generated.

The Inflationary Universe Theory states that the universe did not begin from a single big bang, but rather, matter could have appeared as fluctuations in a vacuum. The Oscillating Model theory attempts to eliminate the need for an absolute beginning of the universe by suggesting that at first the universe expands, then collapses then expands again and continues in this cycle indefinitely (Keppe, pp. 77-87).

There are several problems with the Oscillating Model. First, this theory contradicts the known law of physics. There is no known law of physics that could reverse a contracting universe and cause it to return to a singular state. It has been determined that as long as the universe is governed by general relativity, the existence of an initial singularity—or beginning—is inevitable, and that it is impossible to pass through a singularity to a subsequent state. The 'whole theory was simply a theoretical abstraction that physics never supported.

There are several problems with the Oscillating Model. First, this theory contradicts the known law of physics.
